Dixie, Dixie Road and Lynch Meadows near Concow in Butte County. Burning within the 2008 Butte Lightning Complex. Steep terrain, poor access. Power lines down.  

Firefighters are battling a 7 acre fire at Concow Rd and Deadwood Rd (Butte County). No structure threat. Power lines down. Three tankers and one helicopter on scene to assist ground resources (14 engines, 3 dozers, several crews currently assigned.)

The fire is contained, mopup operations are ongoing.  

Citrus Fire, near Loomis, Placer County CA. Grassfire. Structures threatened, homes in the area. No evacuations ordered. The fire was contained at 5:12 pm.

Cooperating agencies: CAL FIRE, Rocklin Fire, Loomis Fire, Penryn Fire.  

Colgate Powerhouse, Yuba County. Good progress is being made. Mopup operations in progress. Full control expected at or before midnight.  

Meadowlark Fire near Sheridan, Placer County. Grass fire started at 3:19 pm on Friday, June 18. Wind driven fire, structures were threatened. CAL FIRE, Lincoln Group and Wheatland Fire contained the fire around 6:15 p.m.  

Phillips, Roseville CA near Phillips Road. Mopup operations in progress.  

Currently the Eldorado National Forest has two fires in the Hell Hole area. The Black Fire is located in the Ralston Ridge area and is burning in heavy timber. As of 8:00 am the Black Fire is reported to be 30 acres. The Black Fire is 40 percent contained. The Point Fire, 2 acres, is located on Chipmunk Ridge southwest of Hell Hole Reservoir. The Point Fire is contained.

Ground crews are working the fires today. Fire Weather - Today southwest ridge top winds 11 to 17 MPH with local gust up to 30 MPH. A frontal system will be moving across Northern California today bringing wetting rain.  

Spenceville Wildlife Area, south of Smartsville, Yuba County. The fire was contained around 9:00pm. Mopup operations are ongoing.  

Interstate-80 at the Nevada/California Border near Verdi, CA. Currently there is no visible smoke on the fire.

Resources are mopping up and reinforcing the entire line.

Some resources should be released this evening and the fire will be monitored and patrolled tomorrow.  

Honcut, Butte County CA. Near Palermo, burning in grass and timber. Structures (barn, outbuildings) were threatened. Numerous resources on site. Mopup operation in progress.  

Chalk Fire
10 miles east of Nevada City

Placerville, CA. Near I-50 at the Forni exit, vegetation fire. Numerous resources on scene and on order. Forni offramp is being reopened at 1:50 p.m. Expect delays on I-50 in the area. The fire was contained at 2 acres.  

Dry CAL FIRE, EB I-80 and Dry Creek, moderate rate of spread. Burning in grass. Drift smoke is a traffic hazard for motorists on I-80. Contained at approximately 2 acres by units at scene at 2:07 p.m. on Sept. 5 2009. Aircraft are being released.  

Pleasant, Donovan Road in Penn Valley, Nevada County CAL FIRE. Grass and oak. Four engines on scene, airtac overhead, one tanker and one helicopter on scene. The fire was contained at 10:30 a.m. Mopup operations in progress.  

Spring Valley Road, Nevada County, CA. Vegetation fire in grass and brush. Moderate rate of spread. Air resources and ground resources on scene. No threat to structures. Fire contained at 10:14 am. Mopup in progress.  

CAL FIRE is assisting the US Forest Service with a 15 acre fire off Mosquito Rd & Sand Mountain Rd, east of Georgetown (El Dorado County).  

Salmon, El Dorado Hills area: Salmon Falls and Gallagher. Started by a vehicle (RV) accident with extension to the wildland. AEU and NEU units on scene.
