United States Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, released the following statement on EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson's declining a request for his participation in a field briefing on EPA's California waiver decision, scheduled for January 10 in Los Angeles.

Senator Boxer said, "Rather than looking in the eyes of the people he is affecting, Mr. Johnson is hiding out in Washington, DC. His shameful decision denying the California waiver must be overturned."
