YubaNet.com Editorial Policy

Press Releases:

YubaNet.com welcomes press releases from your organization, group, or business. Please follow standard press release format since, in some cases, your press release may be published unedited/unexpurgated using your organization's byline. If you have a website, please include the URL. Submissions must be in electronic format. No faxes or snail mail.  You are encouraged to attach electronic photos/graphics with your press release.

In addition, you are welcome to post events to YubaNet's Community Calendar. Unlike the news section, the YubaNet Calendar is a post-it-yourself feature that announces activities and events in the Gold Country and northern Sierra Nevada region. To view regional events and post your event go to YubaNetAgenda.

Opinion letters and guest columns:

As with press releases, all submissions must be in electronic format (email). No faxes or snail mail.
Submissions must include your real name, city, and phone number. Only your name, city and state of residence will appear.

Word limit:
YubaNet.com is an electronic medium and does not require a word limit. Nevertheless, brevity is the soul of wit so we recommend the following guideline: a maximum of approximately 500 words for letters and 1500 words for columns.

Editing:
If your letter is selected for publication, it will be posted as received (including misspellings and grammatical errors). Hint: use spell check.

Content:
YubaNet.com adheres to a strict civility policy. Only issue-oriented opinions will be considered for publication. During the election season, you are welcome to submit letters of support for candidates running for office.

YubaNet.com does not publish any opinion that denigrates anyone on the basis of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.

YubaNet.com protects the right of privacy of non-public figures as defined by professional media associations and media law.
