November 10, 2009 - The American River Ranger District will be continuing an underburn along Elliot Ranch Road on the ridge just north of Sugar Pine Reservoir today. The plan is to burn another 50 acres of the 330 acre underburn. Burning may continue tomorrow as weather permits. This underburn is designed to reduce hazardous fuels in the area and reduce the risk of future catastrophic wild fire.
There may be smoke across roads in the area so please stay alert for any signs warning of the activity, turn on headlights, and watch for personnel.
For questions about the burn program, and for current updates, please call the Foresthill Ranger Station (530) 367-2224.
