July 26, 2010 - Come Home to Eat, a local food celebration and festival honoring local farmers and ranchers, will be held on Sunday, August 22 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. This year's gathering will be held at Western Gateway Park in Penn Valley, and everyone is welcome. Admission and parking are free.
The fun will include live music, a dunk tank, and games for all ages, and a "Walk through the Farm Guide" scavenger hunt. A program honoring local farmers and ranchers will take place at 6:30 p.m., and contra dancing at 7:00 p.m.
A picnic dinner prepared from locally grown foods is optional, served from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Local wines and regional beers will also be available for sale.
The picnic dinner costs $12 for adults in advance, $15 at the event; $6 for youth ages 12 to 18; free for children under 12; $20-$35 for adult benefactors.
