Foothill Theatre Company to meet with officials and public on Tuesday, Aug. 5

The Foothill Theatre company will meet with elected officials and local business and community leaders on Tuesday, August 5th to discuss its current financial problems, the consequences to the community if it has to close and possible solutions.

Lowell Robertson, FTC Board of Directors President, Executive Director Karen Marinovich and Artistic Director Carolyn Howarth will be at the meeting, which will start at 1 p.m. The public is welcome. Please call the business office for directions and details at 530-265-9320.

The purpose of the meeting is to explain how the theatre got into its current predicament and what is needed to keep it open in Nevada City. They will also explain the business plan that will be implemented should the Foothill Theatre Company succeed in raising the funds needed to continue.

The Foothill Theatre Company currently employs 10 full time artistic and administrative staff, has an annual budget of $850,000 and is responsible for $1.6 million dollars spent in the community.
