Local author Gage McKinney Reading at Foothill Flowers Today

By: The Book Seller, Grass Valley

October 16, 2009 - Join The Book Seller in welcoming favorite local author Gage McKinney for a reading and discussion of his latest book 1930’s: No Depression Here. A timely look at Grass Valley’s interesting economic history, the book is well- researched and masterfully crafted. It’s sure to be a hit with historians and local residents alike.

The book examines Grass Valley during the Depression years- not just the economy, but the community in general. Made even more fascinating by the current economic climate, it is a wonderfully written account of life in the Gold Country in one of the most memorable, and indeed infamous, eras of our nation. We invite the community to join us at Foothill Flowers for a signing, reading and reception for this remarkable book. This event is free of charge, but seating is limited. For more information, please call The Book Seller at 272-2131, or Foothill Flowers at 273-2296.
