NEVADA CITY Calif. Nov. 21, 2008 - PG&E took part in a ceremony in Nevada City on Friday, November 21, to dedicate a newly installed solar electric system atop City Hall on 317 Broad St. Nevada City will earn a $20,000 rebate from PG&E for the solar panels which will generate nine kilowatts of electricity for City Hall.
With over 25,000 solar electric systems installed throughout northern and central California, PG&E has connected more solar customers to the electric grid than any other utility company in the country. PG&E customers generate almost 50% of the nation's customer-owned solar power.
PG&E's solar rebates are available through the California Solar Initiative (CSI). For more information, please visit www.pge.com/csi/.
Editor's note: Nevada City also installed panels at the city's pool and the yard. With the new system installed, the energy bill for the yard will be reduced by 97%.
