Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Plumas County until 1:30 pm Sunday

July 25, 2010 - The National Weather Service In Reno has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Central Plumas County In Northern California. This includes the city of Beckwourth until 1:30 pm.

At 12:44 PM National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located 8 miles Southwest of Beckwourth and moving Nnorth at 25 mph.

Locations affected include Beckwourth, Lake Davis, Antelope Burn Area and Grizzly Campground.

This storm has developed very quickly and will produce a burst of high winds, hail, heavy rain and frequent cloud to ground lightning. Areas of blowing dust may rapidly reduce visibilities to below one mile. Seek safe shelter and stay away from windows and glass doors.
