Grass Valley, CA November 5, 2009 – In November and December, 2009, The Hain Celestial Group will donate up to 1% of retail sales from selected Hain Celestial products at BriarPatch Co-op to the Food Bank of Nevada County. The brands include Arrowhead Mills®, Imagine®, WestSoy®, Spectrum®, Hain Pure Foods®, and SunSpire®.
BriarPatch will be able to donate the funds directly to the Food Bank. Food banks are especially in need, as the current state of the economy has increased the numbers of people that food banks serve. The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates that 11% of U.S. households do not have access to enough food to lead an active, healthy lifestyle for all of its household members at least some time during the year.
While Hain Celestial, BriarPatch, and other National Cooperative Grocers Association stores make year-long efforts to support food banks, they are proud to form this partnership and contribute to the effort to fight hunger with this special promotion.
