November 10, 2009 - The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a winter weather advisory for snow and blowing snow, which is in effect from 7 pm Wednesday to 1 pm Thursday. Snow will be possible over the higher terrain Wednesday evening with snow levels initially above 7500 feet. Snow will increase Wednesday night into Thursday morning becoming moderate to heavy at times with snow levels lowering to around 5000 feet Thursday morning. Accumulations of 3 to 5 inches will be possible above 6000 feet with up to 2 inches above 4000 feet. In addition, southwest wind gusts to 50 mph will be possible over the higher terrain Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Snow will decrease Thursday morning with scattered snow showers continuing into Thursday afternoon.
